Over the weekend, the NCAA wrestling tournament was held, and your Penn State Nittany Lions emerged victorious, again!
Some key facts from the weekend that was in Philadelphia:
- The team won the national championship, their fourth in a row, and 12th in the last 14 years
- They broke their own scoring record for points in a tourney, with the new mark set at 177 points
- They earned two individual championships, thanks to Carter Starocci and Mitchell Mesenbrink
- Speaking of Starocci, he won his fifth individual title, the first collegiate wrestler ever to do that
- All 10 wrestlers that Penn State sent to the tournament finished as All-Americans, only the second time that’s been done in history
- Of those wrestlers who did not win individual titles, they placed 3rd, 5th, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, and 6th
Just an absolutely dominating performance at the tournament.
