Missouri's Kempfer finishes ninth in NCAA 10K

COLUMBIA — Missouri redshirt sophomore Jamie Kempfer made her NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships debut in the 10,000-meter run with a ninth-place showing, finishing in a time of 33 minutes, 10.41 seconds to earn second-team All-American honors Thursday in Eugene, Oregon.

Kempfer looked relaxed as she made her way through the 25-lap race, bouncing between seventh and eighth place for the majority of the race. Charlotte Taylor of San Francisco won with a time of 32:38.57.

Also Thursday, the Missouri 4x100 relay team of Maya Cody, Sandrae Farquharson, LaQuisha Jackson and Tsai-Anne Joseph finished in 18th place with a time of 45.
