Missouri's red hot offense ran into a purple and gold wall Wednesday night in Hoover, Alabama, as LSU's superior pitching and defense earned it a 10-3 win in the second round of the SEC Tournament.
Missouri (36-22) had reeled off seven straight victories coming into the game, scoring 50 runs in the process. The 12-7 win over Texas A&M on Tuesday included three home runs, one of which was a grand slam, which showcased Missouri's prolific power.
Against LSU (40-17), though, Missouri was only able to muster three runs: one off a home run from freshman Kameron Misner, one off an eighth inning ground ball from junior Brett Bond, and a third off a towering ninth inning solo from Nelson Mompierre.
