TUCSON, Arizona — Missed opportunities continued to abound for Utah State in the second and third quarters of the third installment of the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl.
It appeared USU would overcome those struggles, but New Mexico State rallied from a 20-13 fourth-quarter deficit and completed the comeback with a 21-yard walk-off touchdown scamper by star tailback Larry Rose III in overtime. A myriad of NMSU fans stormed the field after the senior scored to give the southern Aggies a 26-20 victory in front of a raucous Arizona Bowl record crowd of 39,132 on a warm Friday night on the campus of the University of Arizona.
