Penn State fell 5-3 to Minnesota on Saturday night at Pegula Ice Arena. The Nittany Lions fought hard but a critical game misconduct against Reese Laubach late in the third period set up the Gophers’ game-winning goal. Despite the loss, it is all still in front of Penn State to make the NCAA Tournament with the Big Ten Tournament just around the corner.
First Period
The first period was relatively quiet, although Minnesota did have the better of the play for stretches. Arsenii Sergeev made a big save on a breakaway early in the period to keep the game scoreless.
