The first Just the Stats of the 2024 season came out just yesterday, which was serendipitous as I was doing my own individual dive into some statistics when it was published. Just the Stats gives some really good insight into a whole bevy of advanced stats, but I’m just an engineer who can barely rite gud, so I decided just to consider some of the higher level stats when it comes to Penn State vs Illinois.
Specifically, I was curious to see how the overall offense and defense for the two teams have done so far, and see if there are any high-level trends I can discern given the dearth of top quality competition this far into the season.
