In his first game back from injury, Michigan State guard Denzel Valentine didn’t make a shot in the first half.
He didn’t have to.
The No. 5 Spartans defeated Penn State 92-65 thanks to the hot shooting hand of Bryn Forbes , who finished with a game-high 20 points.
Quick ball movement and multiple scoring threats allowed Forbes to find open space from behind the arc. He drained six 3-pointers and accounted for half of his team’s 40 points in the first half.
“Forbes really set the tone, I felt like, for the first 20 minutes,” Nittany Lions’ coach Patrick Chambers said.
