Even when mighty Michigan State showed cracks in its armor, Penn State couldn't find the dagger.
The No. 5 Spartans (16-1, 3-1 Big Ten) committed eight fouls in just over five minutes early in the game, but the Nittany Lions (10-7, 1-3 Big Ten) couldn't capitalize. The Spartans recovered to rout the Lions, 92-65.
"Michigan State beat us in every facet," Lions coach Patrick Chambers said. "We had three of the greatest practices — they were tough, they were physical practices, they were great — but still no match for a great veteran team like Michigan State.
