The men’s hockey team’s first bid for an upset over No. 1 Michigan State came up snake eyes, as the Spartans pulled away in the third period for a 6-4 win on Friday night.
First Period
Aiden Fink scored the opening goal for Penn State six minutes into the game. With Lucia Di Pasquo out of position, Fink was able to wrap the puck around the net and in to give the Lions a 1-0 advantage.
Penn State’s forecheck later forced a turnover in the offensive zone behind the net, and Carson Dyck found a wide open Dylan Lugris in the slot.
