Penn State sophomore linebacker Micah Parsons has received some strong praise this week, a week after the National Championship. Analytics website Pro Football Focus (pff.com) recently stated that due to his performance in the Nittany Lions’ Cotton Bowl win over Memphis that Parsons finished the season as the company’s highest-graded linebacker overall.
Per their rankings of the ‘Top 101 best players in college football from 2019,’ Lead College Football Analyst Cam Mellor selected Micah Parsons as the 31st-ranked player from this past season. Parsons was preceded by PFF’s choice for the Butkus Award at No. 30 in Logan Wilson from Wyoming but Mellor wrote strong praise for Parsons’ future:
Parsons put an exclamation point on his 2019 season with a dominant performance in the Cotton Bowl against Memphis, so much so that Parsons actually leaped into the lead for highest-graded linebacker overall this year.
