As Penn State coach Bob Warming took the microphone sitting alongside two seniors, forward Connor Maloney and defenseman Robby Sagel, at Tuesday’s men’s soccer media day for the 2016 season, all sights were set on the team’s upcoming trip to California. There they’ll take on the defending NCAA College Cup champion Stanford Cardinals followed by a trip to Berkeley to take on the California Golden Bears.
After finishing 7-8-3, 2-4-2 in the Big Ten last season, the Nittany Lions look to continue their improvement as they seek their first winning season since 2014. But as the regular season gets underway, it was the offseason work put in by the players that caught the eye of Warming.
