ATHENS, Ga. — When Castle Williams was in his final semester at Georgia in 2014, he and a friend made a pre-graduation bucket list. Three years later, he can distinctly remember one objective: visiting Mama's Boy.
Wandering into the restaurant as a college senior, Williams felt as if he was stepping back in time. A server seated him at an indoor patio decorated with powder blue curtains. The scent of fresh food wafted in from the kitchen.
"It's almost like that Southern experience where (you're) eating out on the back porch," he said.
Known for its fresh biscuits, raspberry jam and long lines, Mama's Boy is an iconic breakfast restaurant in an iconic college town.
