Daniel Jones doesn’t need University of Richmond coaches’ feedback or a film-room session to conclude he’s changing games in the right ways. Opponents physically informed him.
Jones, a sophomore safety from Williamsburg, ranks second among Spiders in tackles and is among the FCS interceptions leaders, with four in six games.
“The guy is a playmaker,” said UR linebacker/safety Micah Keels.
Added Spiders coach Russ Huesman: “Somehow, some way, he’s around the football.”
Jones’ impact carries over to special teams. He has blocked two field-goal attempts, plays that influenced Richmond’s opposition to adjust protection schemes against the Spiders.
