The No. 19 Missouri volleyball team opened its season this weekend by going 2-2 at the Austin Peay Governors Challenge in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The Tigers followed up victories Friday over Marshall and Middle Tennessee by losing to Northern Iowa and Austin Peay on Saturday.
In Saturday's first match, Missouri forced a fifth set after falling behind 2-1, but lost to Northern Iowa 24-26, 25-17, 21-25, 28-26, 12-15.
Senior Sydney Deeken led the Tigers with a career-high 16 kills to go with 10 digs.
"We gave ourselves a chance, but made too many errors at key times," coach Wayne Kreklow said in a statement.
