Columbia College softball finished off an impressive run through NAIA Tournament opening-round bracket play on Wednesday to advance to the Softball World Series.
With a 4-1 victory over Mobile at the Antimi Sports Complex, the third-ranked and top-seeded Cougars (46-5) went 3-0 in the opening round and avoided having to play a decisive game against the 18th-ranked and second-seeded Rams later in the day.
Columbia upped its winning streak to 17 games and is headed to the final portion of the NAIA Tournament — which this season is held in Clermont, Florida — for the 15th time.
