Welcome back to Lion Tales, where each week we take a deep dive into a Penn State game of the past against that week’s opponent. Sometimes, this is a game you really remember. Sometimes, it’s a game that you’ve completely forgotten. But buckle in and let’s remember some things.
A lot will be made of this week, but Penn State leads the all-time series against WVU 49-9-2. The teams haven’t played regularly since the Lions joined the Big Ten back in 1993. From 1959 until 1984, Penn State won 25 straight games against the Mountaineers.
For this post, we look back at a game in 1980 that left West Virginia believing that streak might never end.
