It’s a 2-for-1 special with Lion Tales today as we take a look back at the only two times that Penn State and SMU have played against one another.
The two do have an interesting connection, however.
The first meeting between the two programs is one that lives forever in Lion lore. In 1947, both Penn State and SMU went unbeaten.
The Lions were dominant, having outscored their opponents by nearly 300 total points in going 9-0 with six shutouts. This included a 29-0 rout of rival Pitt to close the season in front of more than 50,000 fans at Pitt Stadium.
