UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s offense will have to excuse Jason Cabinda’s ear-to-ear grin when the sophomore linebacker recalled a play from last week’s scrimmage.
“I did pick [Christian] Hackenberg off on a seam route,” Cabinda said Wednesday with a smile and a chuckle. “I don’t think he was too happy about that.”
Cabinda missed his opportunity to punch the ball into the end zone though as speedy freshman receiver Brandon Polk, listed at 5 feet 9, 163 pounds, tracked him down and took his legs out.
“I got a lot of stuff for that from [linebackers] coach [Brent] Pry,” the 6-1, 245-pound weakside linebacker said.
