Penn State received good news Sunday night as junior safety Lamont Wade announced that he will be staying in Happy Valley for the 2019 season.
Wade’s decision to enter the portal was one of the more surprising moves, but hey, sometimes a player needs to see what else is out there. As Wade said himself, he now believes that Penn State is the best place for him, which is something he probably wasn’t sure of 3 or 4 weeks ago.
With Wade back, expect him to compete for the starting safety job opposite Garrett Taylor. I know there’s a lot of love for incoming JUCO Jaquan Brisker, but if I were a betting man, I’d have Wade as the favorite to win that spot come August 31.
