For the first time since it was 1-0 back in early December, Penn State is above .500 in Big Ten play.
Facing a team that sits above them on the NCAA Tournament bubble, the Nittany Lions used a balanced scoring attack to inch past Maryland, 74-70, on Wednesday inside the Bryce Jordan Center.
The win propels Penn State to 7-6 within the conference. That gives it its first winning record in the Big Ten since the Nittany Lions were 1-0 after beating Iowa on the road. Overall, Penn State is now 17-9 on the season, while Maryland falls to 16-10 (5-8).
