After posting back-to-back road wins over Iowa and Illinois last week, it appeared as though Penn State had regained its momentum as it approached the halfway point of its Big Ten slate.
All of that momentum came to a screeching halt on Wednesday after the Lady Lions were blown away by No. 5 Maryland in an 89-53 home loss.
Now, the Lions (8-12, 3-6 Big Ten) will look to get back on track when they host Purdue (15-5, 6-3) on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center.
The Lions and Terrapins were tied at 21 with 6:20 to go in the second quarter, but the Terps then went on a 41-12 run to put the game on ice with a commanding 60-33 lead with 2:25 left in quarter number three.
