There were big plans for quarterback Kyle Lauletta from the day he signed with the University of Richmond on Feb. 6, 2013. Danny Rocco, then the Spiders coach, on that afternoon described each of the 13 players who submitted letters of intent. When Rocco got to Lauletta, the coach said:
“If this was the NFL draft, we would have used our first pick on Kyle Lauletta. That’s how good we feel about him. ... He can throw the football, great leadership qualities, all the intangibles.”
Move ahead to last Saturday, after Lauletta led Richmond to a 41-38 win over Albany in double-overtime.
