With No. 7 Braeden Davis out with an injury, many wondered who would wrestle at 133 pounds for Penn State.
Kurt McHenry got the nod against then-No. 2 Iowa when Davis was unable to go. McHenry took a 19-4 tech-fall loss to No. 3 Drake Ayala.
Kyison Garcia got his name called against No. 19 Michigan, competing in his first dual match. With Garcia in the lineup, Penn State earned a dominant 39-0 victory.
“I think the guys went out and did what they had to do,” coach Cael Sanderson said. “ I think the guys wrestled well, and we’ll be ready for Sunday.
