Something seemed off with Kaytron Allen since his performance against Washington, when he gained 106 yards from scrimmage to help the offense race out to a 28-0 halftime lead. In the three subsequent games against Purdue, Minnesota and Maryland, Allen was only able to muster 64 yards rushing on 26 carries, with a rare fumble and no trips to the end zone on the ground. Perhaps it was some late-season bumps and bruises that are unavoidable for anyone who regularly sees the field, especially a bruising running back heading into the teeth of Big Ten defenses. Allen has been a standout all-around back for three seasons since the start of his true freshman season in 2022.
