STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- A federal lawsuit filed against Penn State by a son of late football coach Joe Paterno has been dismissed.
Former assistant coach Jay Paterno and another former assistant, Bill Kenney, sued in 2014. They claimed the school violated the law by dismissing them as coaches in 2012. They also alleged they were unfairly linked to the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal.
The two said a university-commissioned report by former FBI director Louis Freeh made it impossible for them to find comparable jobs. The report had criticized some coaches for ignoring red flags about Sandusky's behavior.
