WILLIAMSPORT - An insurance company wants a judge to toss a seven-figure lawsuit filed by a former Penn State linebacker, who said a knee injury cost him a shot at the NFL.
Nyeem Wartman-White is seeking at least $1.5 million from Lloyd's of London, claiming it reneged on a disability policy after he tore his ACL in 2016 against Temple.
Lloyd's acknowledged, in a filing Friday in U.S. Middle District Court, that Wartman-White was insured and injured, but denied there was a wrongful delay in investigating and processing his claim.
Lloyd's denied, in the filing, that Wartman-White made a claim for disability and disputes his contention that they did not attempt to contact him.
