Penn State cornerback John Reid became the third Nittany Lion drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon, when the Houston Texans took him with the 141st overall pick in the fourth round.
The New Jersey native was an immediate impact player for the Nittany Lions when he came to Happy Valley in 2015, breaking right into the cornerback rotation as a true freshman. After a solid freshman season and a strong follow up season as a sophomore, there was a thought that Reid could be a three-and-done player.
However, a torn ACL prior to the 2017 season knocked Reid out for what would have been his true junior season, causing him to take a redshirt that year.
