Joe Moorhead's successor at Fordham sees a Penn State offense on the upswing

When Joe Moorhead left his post as head coach at Fordham last December to take the offensive coordinator job at Penn State, he was adamant about who he wanted to succeed him.

His stamp of approval given to Andrew Breiner, 32, a Hershey High School grad who served three years as a graduate assistant under Moorhead at Connecticut before they left for Fordham together. Moorhead took his plea directly to athletic director Dave Roach, who announced Breiner's hiring in December.

"I would not be head coach at Fordham without Joe Moorhead," Breiner said. "I'm so grateful. He made it very clear to the administration.
