Falling to No. 3 Minnesota last weekend, the No. 15 Nittany Lions finished their Big Ten season with a 9-11-4, earning the fifth seed in the Big Ten Playoffs.
Lined up to face fourth-seeded Michigan in a best-of-three series, Penn State came into Yost Ice Arena with everything to prove. The Nittany Lions took Game 1, 6-5, in overtime on Friday night.
Penn State was quick to take an early lead in the first period. With 14:34 on the clock, Ben Schoen picked up a loose rebound in front of the cage to shoot the puck past goaltender Logan Stein.
