The Nittany Lions opened Friday’s contest with a starting lineup of Nicole Hall, Mya Vaslet, Alyssa Machado, Taya MacDonald, Lyndie Lobdell, and Katie Desa.
Penn State’s Tessa Janecke was whistled for an early body-checking penalty two minutes into the contest. Northeastern received its first power play of the match but failed to convert, keeping the game scoreless.
