Penn State's James Franklin has been named to the Dodd Trophy's midseason watch list.
The fourth-year leader of the Lions was one of 20 coaches selected, and that fact leads our Thursday three pack of notes as this Saturday's showdown with Michigan looms.
"With an abundance of coaching talent throughout all of college football, this year's midseason watch list exemplifies coaches who have stood out on the field, strived for academic excellence and immersed their teams in the local community," Jim Terry, the Chairman of the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundations, said in a released statement.
