COLUMBUS, Ohio — The first thing mentioned about Penn State is its offense. And why wouldn’t it be? The Nittany Lions lead the nation in goals per game for a reason.
But in the Big Ten Semifinals, it was the defense that led the way.
Penn State stifled Ohio State all night, leading to a 5-1 win, even though the first 10 minutes weren’t so peachy on the back-end.
The defense committed some costly turnovers, something that isn’t uncommon this season.
But this time around, they didn’t let Ohio State get many quality scoring chances off of those opportunities.
