After a thrilling 5-4 overtime comeback victory Friday, it looked like the brash and physical identity centered on players constantly crashing the net that won Penn State the Big Ten Tournament Championship a year ago was back.
“It just felt like us again,” Penn State coach Guy Gadowsky said Friday. “Even if we lost, I thought we played our best game.”
Then, Saturday happened.
The Nittany Lions dropped the second game of the series against Michigan 5-2, putting forth a performance that included some big hits on Wolverines players, but lacked the same consistent energy and tenacity that was on display Friday night.
