In his hometown, Penn State's NFL combine-bound Garrett Sickels was a 'once in a lifetime' presence

RED BANK, N.J. -- On Saturday afternoons in the fall on the American Youth Football fields of Monmouth County, the No. 90 holds a prominent space on the jerseys of New Jersey's young football players. It's one of the most sought after numbers every year, and when players move up in age groups and change teams, they'll get grandfathered in and keep the number.

That's just one of the tangible examples of the impact former Penn State defensive end Garrett Sickels had during his time at Red Bank Regional High School near the Jersey Shore. His teammates knew he was a special player.
