Before I get into a Dr. Seuss vibe, it seems a good time to consider the uniform lines that continue to be crossed in the name of recruiting and rebranding. The latest tradition-steeped program that made a giant leap into the promotional pool was Michigan State basketball on Saturday.
The Spartans, usually clad either in their dignified and classy duds in home white with dark green SPARTANS across the front, instead emerged for an important showdown with red-clad Maryland in a shade that could best be described as Phillie Phanatic green.
