How Penn State men's lacrosse is preparing for upset-minded UMBC in NCAA Tournament

As its historic season continues onward, Penn State now looks to check another goal off the list: its first NCAA Tournament win in program history.

The No. 1 seed Nittany Lions welcome No. 16 UMBC to University Park on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Retrievers have been in this position before, in basketball. In 2018, UMBC shocked the world by beating Virginia and becoming the first team 16-seed to upset a top seed in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The Retrievers got to this point via a play-in game against Marist that took place on Wednesday.
