Turns out, football is still a money-making business.
A pair of financial news outlets released value estimates for the Steelers and Pitt and Penn State football this week, and combined, they’re worth more than $3 billion.
Forbes tackled the Steelers and pegged the franchise’s value at $2.45 million. That figure is a 9 percent surge from the same organization’s assessment last year.
Digging deeper, Forbes also estimates that, over the past year, the team pulled in $401 million in revenue and posted an operating income of $102 million against player expenses of $185 million.
