Maryland’s Connor Kelly played like the all-star the Terrapins needed to overcome Penn State.
In eight shots, Kelly recorded six goals as the Terrapins edged out the Nittany Lions, 13-12.
“We thought they were going to be the best team we’ve played all season,” Kelly said, “and they were just that tonight.”
Penn State led for most of the game, but Kelly’s poise and shot selection kept the Terrapins within striking distance all night long until a series of goals gave them the lead.
“You could tell he was dialed in,” Maryland coach John Tillman said.
