ORLANDO, Fla. — Playing keep away looked like it might net Virginia Tech a bowl win Thursday night. Then, Oklahoma State got going.

The No. 17 Cowboys scored 17 straight points to take control of the Camping World Bowl, on their way to a 30-21 win over the No. 22 Hokies, denying Tech its first back-to-back 10-win seasons since 2010 and 2011.

“We had a plan and we executed it well at times,” Fuente said. “I don’t really remember Oklahoma State making very many, if any, mistakes. And we made a handful. Just enough to keep us from pulling the thing off.
