Tulane coach Willie Fritz always stresses the importance of the 48 hours between the final football practice on Thursday and the game on Saturday.
It’s doubly and maybe triply important this week, because that time period will determine the Green Wave’s starting quarterback against Army.
The teams play at 11 a.m. Saturday at Yulman Stadium.
Fritz remained non-committal after watching Jonathan Banks and Johnathan Brantley split practice snaps Thursday morning, unsure if Banks has recovered enough from an upper-body injury he suffered Sept. 9 at Navy. Brantley went the rest of the way in that game and played into the third quarter at Oklahoma before freshman Khalil McClain relieved him.
