CARBONDALE — The opportunity presented by the absence of Illinois State wide receiver Christian Gibbs on Saturday at Saluki Stadium was seized by Antonio Hadden Jr.
The Redbird redshirt freshman transfer from Florida Atlantic hauled in his first five college receptions for 97 yards in ISU's 42-7 loss to Southern Illinois.
"It was nice to get out there and be able to show the coaching staff and the offensive players what I can do," Hadden said.
Gibbs, who had 22 catches for a team-best 389 over ISU's first five games, did not dress because of a toe injury.
