From Mike Bellotti on down, those who served with and for Bill Moos praise his leadership

Former Oregon coach Mike Bellotti and Bill Moos had a very open and friendly relationship. “It was refreshing for me at the time to talk to somebody who wasn’t trying to keep their cards very close to the vest or hide whatever motive,” Bellotti said. "It was just very honest and frank and straightforward and I appreciated that.”

Bill Moos was always open with Mike Bellotti. So open that they had conversations about what would happen if Moos — then the Oregon athletic director — ever had to fire his football coach.

Bellotti was promoted from offensive coordinator after the 1994 season when Rich Brooks left the Ducks for the NFL.
