STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Penn State tight end Mike Gesicki can still remember the tweets hurled at him last season: Gesicki sucks, Gesicki has no hands, why do the coaches still play him? They weren't unearned.
He caught just 13 balls last season and committed five drops.
"You would've thought it was 50 the way everyone was reacting," Gesicki said.
Statistically, based on drop rate, that made him the fourth-worst tight end in the country. Looking back on it now? He wouldn't change a thing.
"I said that before the season," Gesicki said recently, "and people were looking at me like I was crazy.
