Former Penn State wrestler Frank Molinaro finished fifth today at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. He fell to world number one Frank Chamizo of Italy 5-3 at 65 kg in a close bronze-medal match, going 2-2 overall at the games.
Molinaro was an NCAA champion while at Penn State, winning the 149 lb. weight class in the 2011-12 season. He then began coaching, spending time at Rutgers before coming back and joining the Penn State staff under Cael Sanderson.
While on staff at PSU, he has been training with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club, and his renewed focus with the NLWC is what has taken him to Rio and the bronze.
