Four Penn State women’s volleyball players earn AVCA All-America distinctions

After its season came to an end in the NCAA semifinals last week, four Penn State players received All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Sophomore Haleigh Washington earned a first team selection, while senior Megan Courtney and redshirt senior Aiyana Whitney are on the second team. Sophomore Ali Frantti received an AVCA All-America honorable mention distinction.

In addition to the honorable mention team, the AVCA All-America classes are divided into three teams with 14 student-athletes representing each class.

In the 2014-15 season, Frantti earned Second Team All-America. In addition to earning her first All-Big Ten honor this year, Courtney received her first AVCA All-America honor.
