It started with an aggressive forecheck.
Casey Bailey poked the puck ahead, and out-skated Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry into the left corner. Bailey dug out the puck, fed it to teammate Eric Brewer at the left-point, and went to work.
Peter Holland took the puck behind the Canadiens’ net, then tossed it back to Dion Phaneuf at the right point. Bailey instinctively knew Phaneuf would shoot it, so he moved into the shooting lane and angled his stick to get a deflection.
Bailey got more than just the puck to glance off his stick.
