While a loss in the semifinals ended their gold medal dreams, Penn State alum Miles Chamley-Watson and Team USA still have a chance to medal.
The No. 3 seeded U.S. will be matched up against No. 5 France in the bronze medal match of the men’s team foil at 1:10 p.m. today.
After not making an appearance in the Table of 8 match against No. 6 Egypt, Chamley-Watson was substituted in for two bouts in the semifinals match against No. 2 Italy. The former Nittany Lion lost both bouts by a score of 5-3.
Starting lineups for the bronze medal match have yet to be released, so it remains to be seen if Chamley-Watson gets another shot at fencing in the Olympics.
