Former Heisman Trophy recipients discuss Saquon Barkley's chances of winning in 2017

HARRISBURG - University of Chicago running back Jay Berwanger was the first recipient of the Heisman Trophy in 1935. College football's most prestigious individual honor was awarded 80 more times following that inaugural presentation.

During that stretch from 1935 to 2016, there's only been one Heisman winner to come from Penn State: running back John Cappelletti in 1973.

Can Saquon Barkley - another talented running back - become the second Nittany Lion to take home the sport's biggest prize?

"It's always too early to tell," said former USC running back Marcus Allen, the 1981 Heisman winner.
