Alex Faedo will have plenty to remember about his Florida pitching career, and his future is bright as the Detroit Tigers’ first-round draft pick.
Something that Faedo won’t soon forget, however, is a seven-day stretch in Omaha when the junior right-hander did some of his best work.
The Gators are heading to the CWS championship series because of it, with Faedo throwing 7 1⁄3 innings of three-hit ball Saturday night as Florida beat TCU 3-0 in front of a TD Ameritrade Park crowd of 18,093.
“He just exudes aggressiveness, confidence … and our team has the utmost respect for him,” Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan said.
