In six months at Reedley (California) College, Josh Allen did what he needed to do. He threw for 2,055 yards and 26 touchdowns and ran for 660 yards and 10 scores. It was enough to punch his ticket to the Division I level in the form of a scholarship offer from Wyoming.
His off-the-field experience in junior college might have been just as valuable.

Ernie Rodriguez believed he was getting a high-character kid in Allen before he ever put on a Reedley jersey. Rodriguez, then Reedley's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, had seen Allen play his junior year of high school and brought up his name when recruiting season began the next year.
